It was obvious. They were not negotiating in good faith. The 60 days was a small window for US to position troops and bombs, but Rational Iran didn't know or were too trusting to Trump who is totally beholden to Israel. I told you a long time ago that Trump would pivot to war to save himself from Israel taking him out. There were ONLY two options; resume war of JFK manners, scared made safe easy choice. Soon it maybe elevated to "nuke iran" or JFK manenos again, and Trump will, without a doubt will choose nukes because he is scared as Fuck!
There is nothing good Iran can do. Even if they give up everything, I think Israel will still want the war to continue. It is better for Iran to shut Hormuz indefinitely and do Guerrilla war for years. It is their safest choice until the Trump and Bibi (Are no longer the heads of USA and Israel)
Iran knew all this and has been busy rearming - missiles, drones etc - during the lull. They are being helped by China and Russia - that's why US is targeting the land bridges in Eastern border to Afghanstan where Chinese cargo checks in. Biden blundered bigtime by withdrawing from Aghanistan. Now Iran doesn't need the sea to trade with China. In the few weeks of the MOU ceasefire Iran has received China and Russian fighter jets.
Basically Iran had/has no intention of disarming (missiles, drones), surrendering the enriched plutonium, dsmantling the axis of resistance (Houthis, Hezbollah) nor giving up the chokehold on the Strait of Hormuz.
Hormuz is now Iranian waters and will be manned just like Egypt mans the Suez, Turkey mans the Bosporus, Panama mans the Panama canal. Tolls are being paid in Yuans. There is a new law on the Hormuz Management Authority.
US army bases in the Gulf are also de facto gone - after Iran rained missiles and drones. UAE had put the marines up in hotels but most have since disappeared to Israel, Cyprus or Europe after Iran drones hit skyscrapers housing them in Dubai. The bases have been flattened and the security matrix won't resolve. Risk is overwhelming. No more US bases in the Gulf.
Meantime Iran is back to stopping 90% of the traffic until US lifts the sanctions on their oil exports. Gas prices will be back to $5 per litre in a few days. Trump and Rethugs will face the music in Nov midterms - Johnson and Thun allowed the war powers resolution over the war -- Iran has him by the gonads.
