I am not a pundit, writer, journalist and I am too busy to analyze, counter analyze, bar gossip about Kenyan politics but I am keen on one thing, the kikuyu zeitgeist. Though I do not live in Kenya full time, I have my ear on the ground. I started talking about Peter Kenneth way before any of my friends from other tribes knew who he was, everyone would look at me in bewilderment whenever I mentioned his name. Peter Kenneth would now be a very serious candidate if he did not allow hubris and ego to overcome rational thinking and popular advice. I can tell you today, without fear of contraction that my radar has not picked up on Kiunjuri, no one is even talking about him. He will not get out Kikuyus, maybe boda bodas and manabas. The dilemma here is, Ruto has a more fervent support in Meruland than Kikuyus in general, if he goes with a Merian, Kikuyus will be even more disinterested. I think this next election will be determined by the kikuyu turnout, that’s why people like Kiunjuri cannot take Uhuru head on, it’s hard to measure how much support Uhuru has among Kikuyus, you do not want to piss or turn this people off. It’s too early in the electioneering process but things are looking good for a Kati Kati candidate.
